The Fulham winger Alex Iwobi is eager to kick off the 2024-25 Premier League season on a high note, particularly against familiar foes Manchester United.
The two teams face off in their opening fixture, and Iwobi is confident after his late winner secured a 2-1 victory for Fulham at Old Trafford in February.
Ahead of Friday’s clash, the Nigeria international expressed his enthusiasm, stating that the team is ready to replicate their previous success and make a strong start to the new season.”
“Yeah, it could be. So far, I am trying to create more. So, maybe we can do it again and create more. But it is all in the past now. It is about the present and hopefully doing it again,” Iwobi told Fulham’s official website.
“Yeah, of course, it is a great test. Man United, one of the best teams in the Premier League. It is a good challenge for us. I mean, we were able to do it last season. Hopefully, we can do it again this season and start the season strong.”
Iwobi bagged two assists in Fulham’s pre-season friendly win against Hoffenheim on Saturday.
