Manchester City’s goalkeeper, Ederson, has stated that the club has already selected a potential successor for manager Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Guardiola’s future, Ederson’s comments suggest that the club is prepared for the possibility of his departure.
Guardiola, whose current contract with Manchester City expires at the end of the season, has not publicly decided on his next move, fueling speculation about his future with the team. “City is a very well-structured club, well-managed, great directors, great CEO,” Ederson told TNT Sports Brazil.
“I believe the club already has the next manager in mind… the day Pep decides to leave, they will try to follow the same line of work.
“Of course it’d be a great loss [if Guardiola left]. We’re talking about the best manager in the world but I see a really well-prepared club for the post-Pep era.”
Guardiola has guided the Cityzens to many trophies, including six Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League.
