Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe has reportedly lost access to both his Instagram and TikTok accounts shortly after making controversial remarks about Afrobeats superstar, Wizkid.
The incident unfolded after a TikTok live session where Carter Efe criticized Wizkid’s personality, describing him as having too much pride and calling him an “idiot.” His comments did not sit well with Wizkid’s devoted fanbase, popularly known as Wizkid FC, who quickly mobilized to report his social media pages.
Following the backlash, Carter Efe took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday evening, expressing his frustration and confirming the suspension of his Instagram page, which boasted over 1.8 million followers.
He claimed that members of Wizkid FC were responsible for getting his account removed. In a visibly distressed tone, he also revealed shortly afterward that his TikTok account had been blocked as well, further escalating the situation.
In a public apology video, the skit maker pleaded with Wizkid and his fans to forgive him, admitting that he was in “severe pain.” “FC una don collect everything,” he lamented. While the controversy has sparked intense debate online, Carter Efe’s appeal for mercy has yet to yield any positive updates on the status of his accounts.
