Labour Party Faction Gives Peter Obi 48 Hours to Resign Over Coalition Move

🚨 Labour Party Faction Gives Peter Obi 48 Hours to Resign Over Coalition Move

The tension inside Nigeria’s Labour Party has intensified as the Julius Abure-led faction issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Peter Obi following his alleged involvement in a new political coalition.

The group, in a press statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, made it clear that it wants no part in the coalition and demanded full loyalty from its members.

Ifoh described the coalition as a desperate gathering of “power mongers” who have nothing to offer Nigerians.

He warned that the so-called ‘New Nigeria’ being promoted cannot be achieved through a mix of recycled and frustrated politicians. “It’s a ruse,” he said, “and Nigerians must not be deceived.”

The faction accused Peter Obi of lobbying current Labour Party members through secret meetings to defect and join his new political front.

According to Ifoh, many of those approached have refused to follow him, remaining loyal to the Labour Party’s structure and vision for a better Nigeria. 🗳️

“We are not available for individuals with dual loyalty,” the statement reads. “Those who claim Labour Party in the morning and identify with another coalition at night must make a decision within 48 hours or resign.”

Reaffirming the Labour Party’s focus, the faction stated that nearly 70% of Nigeria’s population are youth who deserve better leadership — not what the coalition is offering. It insisted that only the Labour Party has the structure and intention to build the future Nigerians are dreaming of. 🚀
