🇳🇬 Muhammadu Buhari‘s Body Returns to Nigeria for Burial
The remains of former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari,
have officially arrived in Nigeria following his demise on Sunday at the London Clinic.
This was disclosed by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert focused on the Lake Chad region,
in a statement on his official X handle on Monday morning.
Buhari, who passed away at the age of 82, had battled prolonged health issues and
was receiving treatment in the United Kingdom until his death.
Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, were present in London to receive the late leader’s body on behalf of the nation.

The Nigerian delegation, led by Shettima and Gbajabiamila, departed Abuja around midnight on Sunday
and arrived in London early Monday to oversee the repatriation.
Final burial rites are expected to follow shortly, adhering to Islamic customs,
as the nation continues mourning one of its most prominent leaders.
