Finding Nina (2025) | Nollywood Movie

Finding Nina (2025), produced by Nemsia Studios in association with Unfriendly Space Studios, sets a groundbreaking tone for Nollywood with its evocative blend of folklore and modern storytelling.
Directed by Famous Odion Iraoya, the film centers on JB, a world-renowned street and travel photographer who returns home to Northern Nigeria after years abroad. He carries with him not just a camera, but the hope of breaking the stereotypes that define his homeland. His journey becomes deeply personal when he photographs a veiled woman who resembles his childhood love, Nina—but she disappears without a trace.

Guided by a curious almajiri boy named Abdul (played by Paul Sambo), JB sets off through vibrant rural markets and hushed folklore, entering a dreamlike realm of memory, myth, and unresolved trauma. The heart of the film lies in these surreal sequences—where Hausa folklore, dreams, and haunting visuals collide to transport JB (and viewers) into a place that feels both ancient and urgent.
Writer and producer Dalaham Hirse, along with co-producer Joshua Enakarhire, supports Iraoya’s vision with grounded storytelling and visual grace. Together, they illuminate the beauty, pain, and poetry of a region often overshadowed in mainstream narratives.
