Set in the 13th century, the film follows a disillusioned samurai who is shipwrecked on a remote island with nothing but his inner torment for company. What begins as a potential act of ritual suicide soon morphs into a desperate fight for life when he is captured by a savage cannibal tribe inhabiting the island.

As external demons — disguised as flesh-hungry cannibals — close in, the samurai’s skills, psyche and humanity are pushed to the edge. Reality begins to blur; survival becomes the only code he cares about.

Directed by Josh C. Waller and starring Shogen, Yayan Ruhian and Rama Ramadhan, Lone Samurai delivers a visceral blend of action, horror and psychological torment — making it one of 2025’s most raw and ambitious samurai-horror hybrids.
