Nigeria Police Arrest Couple For Beating 8-Year Old Maid
The Edo State Police Command has arrested a couple for allegedly assaulting their eight-year-old maid, Miss Precious.
The incident occurred in the Ikpoba Hill area near Benin City, within the Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state.
According to the Public Relations Officer, SP Moses Joel Iyamu, the victim is currently receiving medical treatment while the investigation is ongoing.
The suspects, who are relatives of the victim, allegedly inflicted injuries on her body.
A viral video, lasting 1 minute and 17 seconds, has brought attention to the incident.
In the video, a voice is heard questioning the minor about the visible injuries on her body.
The case is currently under investigation, and the police are working to ensure justice is served.
“Who did this to you?” and the little girl replied, “Mummy Gabriel.”
The voice was heard saying:
“This is molestation. Look at her body, they cut her and went to hide in church. Bring them out. We will burn down the church. Your duty is to hand them over to the police.
“They did this maltreatment to this girl and went to hide in the church. Bring Mummy Gabriel out. We will not report you to human rights, but the police will arrest you.”
