I stood there frozen, my toothbrush still in hand, but my heart was racing like a man being chased. There was no breakfast on the table, no goodbye kiss, no missed call. Just a note… and silence.
I tried calling her, but her number was switched off. My palms felt cold. The apartment smelled like her, but she was nowhere to be found.
The last time we argued, she told me I didn’t understand her past. I thought it was just relationship talk—everyone says that. But this?
This felt different. Wrong. Dangerous.
I checked the drawers. Nothing missing. Except for the ring she used to wear to bed.
She was gone. But not for good… I could feel it.
And that note? I wasn’t supposed to see it.
