Troops under Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have successfully thwarted a bandits attack in Jen village, located in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The operation was carried out on Sunday afternoon following a swift response to a distress call from the area.
According to a report shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the troops were alerted at about 3:30 p.m., prompting immediate deployment to the threatened location.
Their rapid response helped to neutralize the threat before any harm could be done.
Upon sighting the approaching military personnel, the suspected bandits reportedly abandoned their attacks and fled the area.
The soldiers then pursued them, successfully crossing a nearby river to secure the bandits’ suspected route on the opposite bank.
Thanks to the timely intervention, the attack was completely foiled—preventing potential loss of lives or destruction of property.
This proactive operation highlights the continued effectiveness of security forces in combating criminal activities in Taraba and surrounding regions.
The current situation in Jen village is reported to be calm and stable. Troops have intensified their patrols and maintained a strong presence in the area to deter any future incursions and reassure local residents of their safety.
