Alex Onyia, a well-known Nigerian educator, has raised concerns over shocking allegations against Okeke Chinedu Christian, the top scorer of the 2025 UTME.

According to Onyia, some individuals are now accusing Okeke of being a mercenary,

 

a damaging claim that could threaten his academic dreams and public recognition.

 

On Tuesday, July 8, Okeke, who hails from Anambra and chose the University of Lagos as his first-choice institution, achieved the highest UTME score

an impressive 375 out of 400.

 

His intended course of study is mechanical engineering, and many had celebrated his achievement across Nigeria — until these fresh allegations surfaced online.

Onyia took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his concern, fearing the student’s joy may soon be crushed by unfair accusations of being a mercenary.

 

As debates spread across social media, users are urging the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to investigate the claims and defend the integrity of its selection process.
